Vijay Deverakonda Refuses To Star In Karan Johar's Hindi Remake Of The Workplace Harassment Flick Dear Comrade
Competing with other biggies such as Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Vijay Galani, filmmaker Karan Johar acquired the rights of South film Dear Comrade for a whopping Rs 6 crore. However, the road ahead doesn’t seem too easy for KJo. Refuting rumours of roping in Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter for the Hindi remake of the film, has left the filmmaker wondering as to who will fit the bill and do justice to Vijay Devarekonda’s onscreen role.

Thus, trying his luck, he approached the original actor Vijay to sign him for the remake, resulting into his Bollywood debut as well. But unfortunately, the actor has turned down his offer as per a report in Mumbai Mirror. It was also said that he was offered a mind-boggling amount of Rs. 40 crore, but things didn’t materialize between the two for the project. Just to bring to your notice, the actor was also offered to star in Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy titled Kabir Singh, which too he refused in the past.

As per an interview in DNA, Vijay was quoted saying, “I don't want to be a Hindi film hero... I wanted to be an actor. Besides, I see no point in telling the same story twice. I spend so much energy on a film I do it... I can't redo entire emotions...It's not exciting for me because I know the scenes. I wouldn't want to waste six months doing the same. Something that works back home and here. I don't see myself shifting base (to Mumbai)... my friends are back home."

Dear Comrade starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, deals with workplace harassment; where Vijay plays a student leader and Rashmika portrays a female cricketer in the movie. So, who will KJo rope in for this one? Will it be his personal favorites from the industry or will he launch fresh talent on the celluloid?
